Edging:
Bringing a submissive to the brink of orgasm… then stopping. Repeatedly. The point is the build, the frustration, and the person who decides whether they get to finish.
Not to be confused with edge play (see below).
Edge play / Edgeplay:
Play that carries real, elevated risk — physical, psychological, or both. Knife play, breath play, blood play, fire play. This is not beginner play. It requires experience, negotiation, and a Dominant who actually knows what they are doing.
This is not the same as edging.
Electroplay / E-stim / Electrostimulation:
Controlled electrical stimulation used for sensation, torment, or training. Done properly, it ranges from a tease to a very convincing argument to behave. Done badly, it is dangerous. Only use equipment made for this, and never near the heart or on broken skin.
Electrics:
Older dungeon term for the same thing: violet wand, TENS, power box, conductive pads, internal attachments.
Exhibitionism:
Arousal from being seen. Clothed, stripped, used, or made to perform. In a dungeon this is consensual: the people in the room agree to watch, and you agree to being watched. This can also come in the form of a video or photos, the thought or reality of being put online (face and recognisable features often covered). Outside of the dungeon, consent is key, if you are unable to obtain this, such as at kink parties or events, then discreet public play is often advised.
Exposure:
Intrinsically linked to exhibitionism. Being put on display, hands bound, clothes gone, lights on and nowhere to hide. Often paired with humiliation, inspection, or waiting.
Erotic hypnosis:
Using voice, suggestion, and trance to deepen surrender. Triggers, mantras, drop, freeze, “good boy.” This only works with consent, trust, and a Dominant who can hold the space. It is not a party trick.
Enema / Enema play:
Fluid introduced into the rectum, used for cleaning, control, humiliation, or medical play. Hygiene and temperature matter. This is not “shove a shower hose in and hope.” If you do not know what you are doing, you do not do it.
Endurance / Endurance play:
Holding a position, a pain, a denial, or a task longer than is comfortable. The point is not the clock, the point is to endure because the Dominant wills it so.
Enforced chastity:
Chastity that is not optional. Cage or no cage — the orgasm belongs to the Dominant. See Chastity.
Enforced orgasm / Forced orgasm:
The opposite of denial: they cum because they were ordered to, whether they think they can or not. Often stacked after edging.
Ejaculation control:
Who gets to cum, when, how, and whether it is ruined, denied, or permitted. Closely tied to chastity, edging, and CEI (see C).
Erotic humiliation:
Shame used on purpose, with consent. Verbal, physical, or situational. The goal is controlled and directed humiliation, not actual harm to the person.
English discipline / English arts:
Old-school corporal punishment — cane, slipper, strap, over the desk or the bench. Related to caning and bastinado.
Eyes down:
A protocol. Gaze at the floor unless given permission to look up. Status, made visible.
Examination / Medical examination play:
Inspection as power. Mouth, cock, hole, posture, hygiene. Gloves optional. Dignity not included.
Encasement:
Wrapping, bagging, or sealing someone in plastic, latex, tape, vacuum bed etc. A more head to toe approach in bondage, and one of My favourites!
Enslavement:
Complete and total ownership: service, rules, 24/7. Still rests on consent, even when the situation or fantasy states otherwise.
Escape play / Escape challenge:
Bound and told to escape. The challenge is around being able to escape, sometimes with various tasks involved, if they are unable to do so punishment often ensues. Rewards for success.
Expansion play:
Stretching or pumping — genital, anal, or nipple. Slow, measured, and not a competition.
Exposed / Public exposure play:
Risk of being seen, or the feeling of it. Balcony, window, clothed in public with nothing underneath. See Exhibitionism.
Ethics (in play):
Consent, competence, aftercare, and not doing things you cannot reverse. This should be something every Dominant or submissive thinks about.
